Applied Materials, Inc. has openings in Sunnyvale, CA for Electrical Engineer [Req #S8084], to: Design or modify electrical/electronic and related engineering assemblies, layouts/schematics and detailed drawings/specifications of difficult scope. Identify and troubleshoot a variety of complex electrical problems. Define, coordinate, perform and generate engineering test reports. Perform engineering analysis of difficult scope. Technically lead and/or execute engineering projects, including development of key suppliers. Implement concepts for variety of complex product issues and electrical/electronic and related solutions of difficult scope. Generate electrical/electronic product specifications. Specify and review engineering documentation.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field, and 5 years of experience in any occupation in which electrical engineering experience in semiconductor industry was gained. Alternately, employer will accept Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field, and 3 years of experience in any occupation in which electrical engineering experience in semiconductor industry was gained. Requires education or experience in: 1. Design/select and test RF delivery systems including RF generator, impedance matching network, transmission line, antenna, or filter; 2. Operation of RF test equipment including signal generator, spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, power meters, oscilloscope, or power supplies; 3. Analysis tools including SPICE, LabView, Python, MathCAD, or MatLab; 4. Analysis and troubleshooting skills for RF generator, matching network, RF filter, or RF electrode/antenna; and 5. RF component selection and characterization.

Salary: $150,044 - $180,053 / year
