TITLE:                     Manager, Data Governance

Duties:                   Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, legal, compliance, and business units, to define and document data governance processes, roles, and responsibilities. Establish and maintain data quality standards and metrics, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data across systems and platforms. Lead efforts to identify and resolve data-related issues, such as data quality problems, data lineage, metadata management, and data privacy. Define and monitor data governance key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness and maturity of data governance initiatives. Develop and deliver training programs to raise awareness and understanding of data governance principles and practices across the organization. Act as a subject matter expert on data governance matters, providing guidance, support, and advice to stakeholders across the organization. Remote work permitted.

SCHEDULE:            40 hours per week, Monday through Friday

LOCATION:            SMB Business Development, Inc., 300 Continental Drive Newark DE 19713

REQUIREMENTS:  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Management, or a related field and five 5 years of experience as a Data Analyst, Data Governance Investigator, Data Manager, Risk Analyst, Data Scientist, or related role where required experience gained.

SPECIAL SKILLS:    Also requires experience in the following:

• Data governance principles, best practices, and industry standards.
• Data privacy regulations and their implications on data governance.
• Developing and implementing data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
• Data quality management, metadata management, and data lineage.
• Project management with the ability to lead and manage cross-functional initiatives, including in a SCRUM/Agile environment
• Application of data governance principles to business analytics and reporting
• Application of data governance principles to business process management
• Training and coaching data governance team members and business stakeholders (and their teams) regarding data governance policies, procedures, tools/frameworks, and best practices
