Wayfair LLC seeks Data Scientist 2 (Multiple Positions) in Mountain View, CA:

Job Duties: Apply statistical and machine learning algorithmic frameworks across multiple front-end and back-end applications for the company including, marketing, measurement, storefront, personalization, merchandising, sales, service, data infrastructure, etc. Perform data mining on the vast repository of raw data and extract meaningful features and insights that will drive prioritization of models to be built. Work in complex data systems and wrangle data from multiple sources including, customer, clickstream, product catalog, and sales databases. Design and implement innovative machine learning algorithms, statistical models, and optimizing methods that help inform specific solutions to business problems spanning varied business functions across multiple customer and supplier touchpoints. Work closely with partner engineering teams to help bring models into production. Serve as a consultative partner to the business product teams to help quantitatively frame the opportunities that can be solved with algorithmic frameworks. Deliver presentations to internal business stakeholders and partner engineering teams that help articulate the vision and strategy of data science, its value to the business, and build confidence in the data science solutions. Position is based in Mountain View, CA office; however, telecommuting may also be allowed. Salary: $200,205 to $210,205 (WFCA020JV)

Minimum Requirements: Requires a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Informatics, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Analytics, or related field plus one (1) year of experience in a quantitative or technical work environment, or in a data scientist or related role.

Special Skill Requirements: Experience must include one (1) year of experience in at least five (5) of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
1. Programming languages such as Python, R, Scala, or Java;
2. Big data/distributed system tools such as Hive, SQL, Spark, Google Big Query, or Dataproc;
3. Technical workflow management tools such as Jenkins or Airflow;
4. Machine Learning algorithms such as classification, regression, clustering, time-series forecasting, deep learning or reinforcement learning techniques;
5. Statistical and quantitative knowledge or modeling techniques such as experimental design, statistical inference, hypothesis testing, or optimization;
6. Working with high level business stakeholders, synthesizing conclusions for non-experts, and influencing business decisions by creating high quality presentations and documentations using PowerPoint, Excel, or Google Suites (Docs/Slides/Sheets);
7. Cross functional coordination with various internal teams;
8. Analysis of database table structures
