Assistant Dean for Student Life, Equity, and Inclusion. Columbia College. Columbia, Missouri. Partner with the Dean of Students, provide leadership and direction for the Division of Student Affairs. Primary duties: Assist Student Affairs with conceptualizing and developing strategic plans, evaluating office programs and services, and conducting assessment activities. Assist students with resolving conflicts and address barriers to student success. Advocate for students and student issues regarding college policies and practices. Provide supervision and support for full-time professional staff, paraprofessional staff, and support staff in the Student Affairs’ departments. Collaborate with the Student Affairs departments to establish and implement policies and procedures that further student success and overall departmental operations. Serve on campus-wide committees and lead the college’s Parent and Family Relations Committee and other similar committees. Respond to student emergencies in coordination with other college offices and departments, faculty, staff, and campus constituents. Oversee and support the student conduct process. Assist with Title IX investigations in collaboration with the Title IX Coordinator. Develop and implement programs that improve student persistence and retention. Develop curriculum and manage administrative details as the liaison for COLL 133 Foundations course with Academic Affairs. Revise and coordinate publication of departmental and division-wide publications including the Student Code of Conduct. Be available on evenings and weekends and on an on-call basis to respond day or night in the event of an emergency on-campus. Manage professional and support staff within the Division of Student of Affairs. Advise college leadership of best practices related to diversity, equity and inclusion. Make recommendations to the appropriate stakeholders. Serve as Chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee and direct their mission, initiatives, and programming. Work with campus stakeholders to drive assessment efforts, and recommend and implement changes based on the assessment data. Develop strategies to increasing effective outreach for prospective students and employees to recruit and retain a diverse campus community. Provide guidance and direction on best practices for inclusion and addressing barriers specific to underrepresented and minority students. Develop and implement events and programs to provide education, training, and support to propel the college’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Requires: Master’s degree in Higher Education Leadership, Higher Education Administration, College Counseling, or closely-related field. 5 years of experience in any position in student affairs. Demonstrated experience leading student success initiatives at the college or university level. Demonstrated experience managing and providing leadership to admissions and student affairs teams at the college or university level. Demonstrated experience with investigations, student conduct, or Title IX at the college or university level. Demonstrated experience leading, assessing, training, and providing guidance and direction with diversity, equity, and inclusion programming and events.
