Senior Accountant opportunity in Golden, Colorado for a manufacturing company specializing in natural products and turn-key solutions servicing a broad spectrum of clients.



The ideal candidate will welcome the challenges associated with the restructuring of an accounting department to support the company’s on-going growth. Candidate must be comfortable working in a highly regulated industry while providing guidance to the founders of the company as well as to the Board of Directors, maintaining strict accounting compliance and upholding confidentiality.

Responsibilities




  • Timely management with day to day functions of GL, AP, AR, Payroll, FA, financial statement preparation, month/quarter, and year end close, journal entries and bank reconciliations.

  • Forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management.

  • Plan, coordinate, lead weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reporting & analytics, communicating opportunities, risk, and performance issues to business segment leadership.

  • Actively participates and provides guidance in the development of business strategies and plans, and their execution including ongoing improvement of departmental SOP’s and work instructions.

  • Develop, create, and maintain a strong, cost-effective controlled environment ensuring compliance. with US GAAP and internal accounting policies, procedures, and reporting regulations.

  • Prepares and communicates analyses of business performance for business segment team members as well as corporate executive level teams.

  • Leads Annual Operating Plan (AOP) process and responsible for coordinating this core business process across all functional teams.

  • Daily reporting to COO and CEO



Education and Experience




  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required, MBA preferred

  • Accounting certification a plus.




  • Financial experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or consumer packaging environment.

  • Strong technical knowledge (US GAAP, financial systems, FP&A, manufacturing cost accounting, cash flows) with solid operational orientation.




  • Participated in M&A projects including due diligence and integration processes

  • Familiarity with COGS and pricing

  • Stellar Excel and QuickBooks required
