PayPal, Inc. seeks Software Engineer 2 in San Jose, CA

Job Duties: Create and integrate secure and scalable Risk experience platform applications. Participate in design meetings to propose, discuss and refine new features and functionality. Design and write scalable web application code following best practices of accessibility, visualization, and usability. Work with the product team and technical leads to identify appropriate business requirements and help design high-load solutions that will be deployed across merchants. Create, maintain, and execute functional, regression, and exploratory tests. Provide test case coverage and defect metrics to substantiate release decisions. Engage in the automation of software testing and simulations and contribute to performance tuning, improvement, and load testing. Maintain proficiency in client and server-side JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, React.js, Redux, and webpack technologies. Telecommuting permitted – work may be performed from anywhere in the US.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer and Information Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Special Skill Requirements:

1. Develop the responsive user interfaces layouts for web and mobile applications as per designer’s wireframes using the technologies such as HTML, CSS (2 years)

2. Implement designed UI using technologies such as JavaScript, Typescript, Angular and React (2 years)

3. Implement back-end services using Node.js framework called Express.js (2 years)

4. Connect APIs or services to the different database systems such as MongoDB, MySQL and PostgreSQL (2 years)

5. Use Git to control the version locally by creating feature branch for each story/ticket and GitHub to create remote branches of the repositories to ensure the version control (2 years)

6. Integrate RESTful and SOAP services between Application to Application (6 months)

7. Web Architeture (6 months)

Base Salary: $156,959-176,000 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
