PayPal, Inc. seeks Manager, Data Science 2 in San Jose, CA

Job Duties: Research and analyze product areas through the design and implementation of rigorous data analytical directed at improving customer experiences and growth opportunities. Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, design, and marketing teams to build world-class products and design hypothesis-driven experiments; make clear, coherent, and holistic recommendations based on test results. Improve product experiences for 200+ million customers using data science techniques. Leverage the Objective & Key Results (OKR) framework to identify product metrics and monitor product performance through dashboards and ad hoc analysis. Present findings of analytical processes to senior-level/non-technical stakeholders with technical recommendations regarding algorithmic advancements to facilitate collection, organization, and more targeted analyses of product data sets. Plan and direct the work of PayPal’s Data Scientists by helping them brainstorm and identify key metrics, analyze data, review and edit executive dashboards and business cases. Regularly guide the team in choosing the appropriate statistical modeling technique for a problem statement and the best AB testing setup to measure and optimize product health. Telecommuting permitted - work may be performed from anywhere in the U.S.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Base salary: $171,430-259,600 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
