Information Security Specialist, Advanced Level (Remote)

We have an immediate need for a contract-to-hire Information Security Specialist, Advanced Level to join an industry-leading payments technology and solutions organization.

Location: Remote

This job expects to pay about $75 - 80 per hour plus benefits.

What You Will Do:

• Execute security controls to prevent unauthorized access to company information and systems.
• Research and analyze attempted security breaches, recommend solutions, and implement preventative measures.
• Maintain security systems, including the company's firewall, and apply encryption methods to protect data.
• Develop and maintain security documentation and comply with company protocols.
• Address information security-related inquiries using established tools and procedures.
• Investigate and resolve information security issues, ensuring proper follow-up and resolution.
• Implement and administer security controls using software and third-party vendor systems.
• Identify opportunities for workflow improvement and communicate business impacts to management.
• Collaborate with user communities to understand and address security needs, ensuring adherence to necessary protocols.
• Provide regular status reports on security matters and assist in developing risk analysis and response procedures.

What Gets You The Job: 

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or an equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
• Strong knowledge of network technologies, including protocols, design concepts, and access control.
• Proficiency in security technologies such as encryption, data protection, and privileged access management.
• Expertise in network design and engineering.
• Excellent time management, decision-making, and organizational skills.
• Ability to plan, report, and set goals, objectives, and schedules.
• Basic to intermediate skills in decision-making and problem-solving.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, able to address both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees and clients.
