THE POSITION

Manufacturing Engineer, ContiTech USA, Inc., Sun Prairie, WI:

Design, integrate, or improve manufacturing systems or related processes for the automotive industry. Implement and improve PLC-based processes and machines, including coding, wiring and documentation. Troubleshoot process and equipment problems. Design and improve layout of equipment, workspace, and the plant. Engage in Project Management for assigned programs. Support and participate in internal continuous improvement projects (including Scrap and Waste Reduction Programs). Develop the most efficient ways to use processes and tools to make a product or service. Write documentation for manufacturing operations (including Work Instructions, SOPs, Control Plans, PFMEAs). Support advanced product quality planning activities for assigned programs.

Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or a related field and 2 years of related work experience.

Must have 2 years of experience in each of the following:

• Using 3D printing for prototype parts tooling and to make replacement parts;
• Using Solid Works for prototype tooling and plant layout;
• Applying problem solving techniques to solve process or manufacturing problems, including A3s, 8Ds, and SWOT analysis;
• Using Lean manufacturing tools, including TPM, SMED, Value Stream Mapping, Theory of Constraints or Six Sigma, to improve processes;
• Following IATF 16949 Quality Systems requirements;
• Using dynamic data exchange and macros in Excel; and
• Allen-Bradley PLC programming.
