Our client, a large industrial automation company is looking for a contract buyer. This is a great opportunity to show a great company your skillset.
The contract is for a duration of six months, with the potential for renegotiation at the six-month mark.
BUYER Position Description
Must have ERP experience
- Purchase MRO supplies and production commodities for manufacturing and engineering, for either internal use or resale.
- Select world-class suppliers and manage their performance through quarterly KPI reporting.
- Competitively quote and market-test materials
- Develop contracts and release strategies to ensure a consistent and timely supply of materials.
- Understand the relationship between material costs and inventory, and its impact on the business.
- Familiarity with Kanban principles and vendor-managed inventory systems.
- Ensure on-time deliveries that meet the needs of engineering and manufacturing for both internal and external customer requirements.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure the most competitive and cost-effective solutions.
- Coordinate on-site supplier visits as needed or required.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop commodity strategies that reduce the supply base and strengthen supplier relationships.
- Consistently aim to achieve cost savings
- Continuously work to improve material controller inventory turnover by increasing delivery frequency or implementing other effective methods.
Candidate Requirements A four-year degree in a Business-related field is highly preferred
