POSITION SUMMARY
Install EMT and Rigid conduit and electrical panels plus pull and terminate appropriate wire for equipment as called out on electrical schematics. Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes.
KEY FUNCTIONS
- Run/Bend EMT or Rigid conduit
- Operate conduit bender and threader, both manual and automatic
- Pull wire
- Terminate wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using hand tools or power tools.
- Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
- Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment.
- Work from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs to install electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
- Construct and fabricate parts, using hand tools and specifications.
- Additional functions may be assigned by supervisors as deemed appropriate.
REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Certifications, And Other Skills)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of electrical installation and repair experience
- Modular Building experience preferred
- Solar installation experience is preferred
- Working knowledge of current NEC codes
- Be able to read production drawings fluently and capable of laying out all electrical plans
- Able to carry out – willingly – all duties defined
- Must be experienced with all required hand and power tools associated with the electrical trade
- Ability to effectively manage work to achieve required timelines
- Strong interpersonal/human relations skills
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- Must be comfortable working from ladders and at heights
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check
- Ability to work safely
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to transport materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks (up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance)
- Ability to work at heights with various angles and surfaces which requires frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, turning, standing, and balance
- Ability to ascend and descend stairs, step stools, ladders, scaffolding, platform ladders, or mechanically elevated devices and be comfortable around heights and working on a roof
- Ability to frequently bend, squat, stand, walk, push and pull up to 100 lbs., reach above shoulder level, have both arms and legs accessible, and perform manual dexterity
- Ability to frequently utilize hand functions requiring fine motor skills including but not limited to: fine manipulation, grasping, and pinching
- Ability to occasionally remain in stationary position, to sit, climb, crawl, and kneel
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Constantly works in conditions subject to excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, and
heights.
