Summary:
This position will include offering supportive services for both crisis management intervention and long-term skill building according to the interdisciplinary treatment plan and direction of treatment team within specific educational environments.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assess student behaviors in all program areas and implement behavior management interventions according to treatment plan and/or under direction from interdisciplinary team.
- Provide crisis de-escalation and recovery support for K-5 students with significant behavioral challenges in accordance with treatment plans.
- Assist interdisciplinary team in assessment and intervention in student crisis situations.
- Communicate and collaborate with interdisciplinary team program and school staff.
- Attend program staff meetings and school meetings as necessary.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, including IEP/504 meetings as necessary.
· Maintain records of team meetings, evaluations, individual services and support plans, referrals, follow-up reports, and case notes.
· Participate in on-going program development.
· Consultation with student families according to program guidelines.
· Performs other duties as assigned and/or required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school graduate or equivalent required. Preference given to applicants with an Associate or Bachelor’s degree.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed may be substituted.
- Above average abilities using computer software such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Ability to learn other computer software programs as required by assigned tasks.
- Ability to successfully pass a DHS background check.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred.
