Rock Hill School District Three in York County, South Carolina seeks multiple High School Advanced Science Teachers. The candidate must have a U. S. Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Education, or a related field, or its foreign equivalent; a South Carolina teaching certificate with an appropriate specialization; and 3 years teaching high school students in a STEM program, including at least one (1) year working with teachers in an administrative capacity, including program development and supervisory duties. The specific job responsibilities of the position include: (i) teach concepts and skills in aerospace, engineering, robotics, and chemistry for grades 9 – 12; (ii) instruct students in science content and skills including laboratory experiments, research, and scientific methods of problems solving for grades 9 - 12; (iii) design and teach lesson plans, facilitate learning experiences, and develop and analyze formative and summative performance assessments and results; (iv) interact, communicate and collaborate with students, parents, colleagues, and other stakeholders to foster student learning; (iv) participate in ongoing professional development activities; (v) perform other duties as assigned including tutoring students grades 9 -12, curriculum writing, peer evaluations, and administrative tasks; and (vi) collaborate with other science teachers and administrators in the district to develop district-wide initiatives to develop the STEM program. Position may transfer to a different building within the district’s metro-statistical area (MSA) to accommodate the business needs of the district.
