As the Facilities Engineer/Manager, you will take charge of inspecting, maintaining, and overseeing the repair of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to ensure peak operational performance. In this role, you will manage the organizations facility operations, coordinate office relocations, and develop both short- and long-term strategies to accommodate organizational growth and mission expansion. You will ensure that day-to-day interior and exterior maintenance is executed in accordance with installation contracts while adhering to local, state, federal, and installation regulations.


You will also be responsible for optimizing office layouts, designing efficient workspaces, and estimating costs associated with layouts, equipment, materials, and labor. Throughout the construction and relocation process, you will monitor progress, ensuring projects meet both safety and efficiency goals. Additionally, you will research and recommend production or processing equipment that aligns with the organizations needs.


This role is crucial in maintaining a safe, compliant, and highly functional facility, ensuring that all efficiency and safety targets are achieved.




Skills / Experience Required



  • Top Secret with Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) eligible

  • May be required to consent to and successfully complete a Government Counterintelligence Scope Polygraph

  • 8+ years of relevant experience within the Department of Defense

  • SAP/SCI experience desired in and worked in this environment within the last five years

  • Must be adept with the Air Force facility management processes and procedures as well as be able to work with the various stakeholders to develop an Air Force Military Construction (MILCON) request and GSA lease agreements

  • Will perform planning and design work for new construction, renovations, and improvement projects for existing and future real property facilities

  • Understand physical requirements associated with accredited Secure Compartmented Information (SCI) Facilities

  • Coordinate all design phases with appropriate stakeholders, managers, and staff elements.

  • Coordinate system repairs and monitor system performance

  • Execute equipment audits and record-taking policies

  • Ensure compliance with all safety and security protocols

  • Manage the overall services provided within the facility

  • Use best business practices to manage and reduce operation costs

  • Compare costs for various services and goods before choosing the best options for the facility

  • Manage the maintenance of the building by performing repairs or contracting maintenance services as needed

  • Track building upkeep as well as anticipated long- and short-term improvements and maintenance

  • Handle certain administrative tasks, such as preparing reports for facility owners

  • Respond to emergency situations or other urgent issues involving the facility


Education / Certifications



  • Bachelors degree is preferred

  • Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of educationin accordance with the Office of Personnel Managements (OPM) Crediting Combinations of Education and Experience standard
