You’ll actively engage cross-functionally in the development, process design, scale-up, and commercialization of new and renovated products for making data-driven decisions for the business. This is an opportunity to shape the future of dairy production and be part of a company committed to excellence and growth! Location: Hybrid role near Syracuse, NY Job Responsibilities:
- Execute projects focused on efficiency, sustainability, profit, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with manufacturing to support consistent delivery, enhanced efficiency, reduced cost, improved sustainability, and maximized profitability.
- Evaluate material handling, batching, and process, while maintaining proper documentation.
- Assist with writing project proposals and generating reports.
- Help with presenting design and research to internal customers.
- Technical resource for the manufacturing and support functions.
- Collaborate with product development on feasibility and trialing of new ingredients and products.
- Develop processes to meet production, measure process capabilities with the plant.
- Maintain material handling, batching, process, new technology, and equipment to improve the process/efficiency of the business.
- Document batch, process, and equipment changes in product life cycle management.
- Understand process change through process capability measurement.
- Contribute to Management of Change representing process change.
- Support process on large capital projects.
- Address chronic issues associated with product and process, i.e. Triage.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Entry-level PhD/Masters/Bachelor of Science/Engineering degree or relevant scientific field of study.
- 2+ years of food industry experience (dairy preferred).
- Certifications such as Six Sigma are highly beneficial.
- Helpful if experienced in project management; leading teams/project teams.
- Technical knowledge of engineering, data analysis, and food science.
- Fundamental knowledge of consumer-packaged product processes and line equipment.
- Use and present knowledge associated with the design of experiments, statistical analysis, and statistical process control.
- Strong self-accountability to meet deadlines and drive results; is accountable for own work; meets timelines and expectations; works independently and is accountable to deadlines while flexible to changing business needs.
- Demonstrates problem-solving skills while looking for alternate solutions.
- Travel required as needed for business.
