What We’re Looking For: The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, organized and able to read and comprehend technical specifications. Customer service is key at all phases from purchase order through production and shipment.
Salary Range: Based on experience: $20+/hour

Production Technician I

PRODUCT FABRICATING & ORDER PICKING
• Pick and produce standard products and parts for orders.
• Fabricate and assemble products of several different product lines.
• Develop technical knowledge of the product line to proficiently fabricate products.
• Print and track daily open order reports.
• Learn and understand the company system to process and prioritize orders.

PACKAGING & SHIPPING
• Perform packing and shipping as needed.
• Follow standardized methods for properly packing items.
• Build prefabricated cardboard boxes and crates.
• Occasionally lift products/packages weighing ~50 lbs.
• Operate walk-behind forklifts.
• Pack truck shipments using crates, pallets, or prefabricated crates.
• Safely use shop saws, pneumatic staplers, and drills for prefabricated boxes.
• Calculate weights and shipping costs for prepaid or pre-quoted customer shipments.

MACHINE OPERATIONS
• Become skilled in operating most machines in our warehouse.
• Master the use of glass and rod-cutting machines for the fabrication of standard products.
• Intermittently, machine product components of several product lines.
• Use and understand vernier calipers and other measuring tools.

MAINTENANCE
• Assist with maintaining machinery on a regular periodic basis and follow monthly maintenance schedules.
• General warehouse maintenance, including (but not limited to) sweeping floors, emptying warehouse garbage, and discarding pallets.
• Meet miscellaneous maintenance needs in office area when arise.

INVENTORY CONTROL
• Help maintain the organization of inventory and supplies in the warehouse.
• Perform inventory control counts.

QUALITY CONTROL / SAFETY
• Learn and understand warehouse quality control procedures and product traceability procedures.
• Adhere to a high standard of producing a quality product and service to our customers.
• Comply with all safety requirements presented by the company.

COMPUTER
• Have reasonably good keyboarding skills to access data in the computer systems.
• Become proficient with labeling programs and the pin stamper.
• Effectively navigate the Inventory Software.
• Become proficient with the Shipping System.

OTHER GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Training for other positions as needed in a backup capacity.
• Occasional, professional interaction with customers.
• Perform miscellaneous duties deemed necessary by management.

PHYSICAL AND TECHNICAL ENVIRONMENT
• Must regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds, using proper lifting techniques.
• Regularly required to walk or stand, bend or twist, climb, and reach with hands or arms.
• Utilize small and large tools, hoists, dollies, and other devices when necessary. Exposure to noise, dust, heat, and cold on a regular basis.
• Manual dexterity and mechanical inclination to work with all sizes of machinery and parts.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of related manufacturing/warehouse experience is preferred.
• Ability to read a tape measure and understand fractions.
• Ability to read and comprehend technical specifications.
• Proficient in MS office products and Adobe Acrobat preferred.
• Able to read, write, and follow verbal instruction in Standard English.
