Hiring Hub is looking for a qualified candidate for our Federal Contract Specialist role. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying, developing, and submitting federal grant applications and proposals. This role involves thorough research, coordination with various departments, and the creation of high-quality, compliant proposals to secure federal funding. The specialist will manage the entire grants and proposal lifecycle, from initial identification of opportunities to post-submission follow-up, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and federal requirements.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Opportunity Identification: Research and identify federal grant opportunities that align with the organizations mission and objectives.

  • Grant Proposal Development: Lead the preparation, writing, and submission of federal grant proposals, ensuring all components are complete, accurate, and compliant.

  • Compliance: Ensure all proposals meet federal regulations, guidelines, and solicitation requirements.

  • Content Creation: Develop and compile necessary documentation, including narratives, budgets, and supporting materials, collaborating with subject matter experts as needed.

  • Review and Editing: Review and edit proposals for clarity, coherence, and compliance; ensure the final product is professional and persuasive.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with program managers, finance, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and data for proposals.

  • Timeline Management: Develop and manage proposal timelines, ensuring all deadlines are met.

  • Post-Submission Activities: Handle post-submission activities such as responding to questions from federal agencies and participating in debriefs.

  • Reporting: Maintain records of submitted proposals and grants, track outcomes, and prepare reports on grant activities and success rates.

  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in the grants and proposal development process to enhance efficiency and success rates.

  • Training: Provide training and support to staff on grant writing and proposal development best practices.


Qualifications:



  • Education: Bachelors degree in Business, Communications, Public Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in grant writing and federal proposal development.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and grants management software.

  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of federal grant processes and regulations, including knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).

  • Writing Skills: Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to produce clear, compelling, and compliant proposals.

  • Project Management: Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to evaluate grant opportunities and develop strategic proposals.

  • Communication Skills: Effective interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail in preparing and reviewing proposals.

  • Certifications: Grant Professional Certification (GPC) or APMP (Association of Proposal Management Professionals) certification is a plus.


Work Environment:



  • This position typically operates in a professional office environment.

  • Standard business hours apply, but extended hours may be required during peak proposal periods.


Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.

  • Occasional lifting of office supplies and files up to 20 pounds.
