American First Contracting is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business that performs Construction Management, General Contracting and licensed Civil Engineering. We have significant experience working for the IL Tollway including Construction Inspection and Design. American First has been involved in projects along the entire improvements planned for the Tri-State Tollway, including the Master Plan and the Mile Long Bridge. We also worked on the Elgin O'Hare Western Access project as Construction Inspectors.

ASSIGNED RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct inspections during and upon completion of construction for line, grade, slope, placement; foundation or base, quality of workmanship and materials, safety precautions and adherence to other technical specifications
Inspects storm and sanitary sewers, water mains, street paving, curbs and gutters, sidewalks, engineering construction projects
Coordinates field and construction activities
Computes quantities of materials use
Investigates complaints regarding all construction activities
Ensures that projects and project areas are completed in a timely fashion and properly cleaned up after completion
Provides information for record drawings
Completes and maintains various documents, records, reports and paperwork
Performs supervisory duties as necessary
Reviews and assists construction management with change orders
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors Degree in related industry
2-5 years of industry experience
Proven self starter
