Established, locally-owned company seeks an enthusiastic, experienced Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for developing accurate and timely proposals and estimates for residential and commercial projects, with a large emphasis being concrete related projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attend pre-bid meetings if required
- Meet with project owners to review job requirements and conditions as necessary
- Thoroughly review plans and specifications so that accurate bidding can be completed
- Solicit quotes from subcontractors and suppliers
- Complete accurate take-offs for labor, equipment and materials
- Prepare complete accurate estimates and complete detailed proposals for clients
- Submit detailed proposal to clients and follow up to assure clients are clear with the scope of work and the pricing for the work being proposed
- Gather and track required material submittals
- Prepare and maintain bid schedule
- Monitor changes to on our projects and communicate changes with field personnel
- Meet periodically with Field Supervisor(s) to assist in scheduling, track job progress and address problems
- Ensure successful close out and completion of all managed projects
- Build and enhance relationships with customers, sub-contractors and suppliers
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or technical institute degree preferred, work experience will be considered
- 3 to 5+ years construction and estimating experience, concrete estimating a plus
- Computer estimating skills including Excel, Work and scheduling software a must
- Construction field experience, preferred
- Able to read, understand and interpret drawings and specifications
- Able to manage multiple projects at one time
- Self-directed with a high level of initiative
- Able to successfully work within a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Committed to delivering outstanding customer service and quality work
- Positive attitude
- Possess a valid CA driver’s license and the ability to meet and maintain all eligibility requirements to drive a company vehicle
- Able to traverse potentially rugged terrain
