Position Overview:

Flow seeking a highly experienced and motivated Solutions Architect Intern to join our engineering organization. This is an exceptional opportunity for individuals with a deep technical background and a passion for designing scalable, efficient, and secure microservices architectures. As a Solutions Architect Intern, you will be responsible for planning, designing, selecting, and implementing complex microservices architecture, configuring cloud infrastructure, and managing DevOps initiatives. This unpaid, remote internship is perfect for those looking to refine their skills and gain hands-on experience in advanced solutions architecture and cloud technologies in the SaaS and AI industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Microservices Architecture: Design and implement scalable microservices architecture using industry best practices to ensure reliability and performance.

Django Engineering: Develop and maintain robust Django code, ensuring flawless integration with microservices and other components.

Networking: Manage low-level and high-level networking, including TCP/IP protocols, ensuring efficient data flow and security.

Shell Scripting: Write and maintain bash and shell scripts for automation and configuration management tasks, including SSH-based automation.

Linux Administration: Administer and optimize Linux-based systems, ensuring stability, performance, and security.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implement and manage infrastructure using tools like Terraform and Ansible, ensuring repeatability and consistency in deployments.

Containerization: Manage Docker containers and Kubernetes clusters, optimizing for performance, scalability, and resource utilization.

Cloud Infrastructure: Plan, select, configure, and deploy cloud services and infrastructure components on platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.

DevOps: Collaborate with development and operations teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments, and enhance overall system reliability.

Security Best Practices: Implement security best practices across the infrastructure, ensuring data protection and compliance with relevant standards.

Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for architecture designs, infrastructure setups, and operational procedures.

Qualifications:

Masters degree in Computer Science or a related field.
5-6+ years of experience in solutions architecture, with a focus on microservices, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps.
Strong experience with Django and other web frameworks.
Proficiency in low-level and high-level networking, including TCP/IP.
Extensive knowledge of bash, SSH, and shell scripting.
Expertise in Linux administration and optimization.
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Ansible.
Deep understanding of Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and cloud services planning, selection, and deployment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to design scalable, efficient, and secure solutions.
Ability to work independently, manage complex tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote team environment.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with advanced cloud networking (VPC, VPN, etc.).
Knowledge of additional scripting languages (e.g., Python, Go).
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
Experience with serverless architectures and related services.
