Is currently looking for Medical Referral Clerk
On-Site at Naval Medical Center, Quantico, VA
Monday Friday, 40 HRS/WK

Great Pay, 2 Weeks PTO, 56 hours sick time, 11 Paid Federal Holidays

You must meet the following qualifications:
Education: HS Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Equivalency; Basic Medical Terminology required. Completion of an Administrative Assistant Program is desired, but not required.
Experience: At least 6 months experience in a medical office setting.
Possess two years experience within the past five years in one of the following areas; medical office management, medical front desk operations, medical records administration and/or referral processing, tracking and closure.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Can type a minimum of 50 wpm is required.
Can use standard office equipment such as computers, typewriters, copiers, fax machines, telephone systems and office automation systems to perform the position.
Demonstrate general medical ethics, telephone etiquette, and excellent communication and customer service skills.

DUTIES, including but not limited to:
Answers main office phone line(s). Directs calls to appropriate section for assistance, handles independently or takes messages as required.
Reviews referrals for administrative completeness and researches covered benefits prior to processing.
Determines patient eligibility for services and arranges and schedules medical appointments for referred care.
Provides general instructions to patients and ensures patients have necessary documentation for referred health care services.
Obtains updates and files medical records
Requests medical records
Initiates and locates patient medical records
Obtains documentation as requested by healthcare providers(Test results, etc)
Or other duties as assigned.
