What You'll Do:
- Provide comprehensive care for neonates in the newborn nursery and Level III NICU, collaborating with Neonatologists during the day and assuming in-house coverage with on-call support at night.
- Attend deliveries and participate in resuscitation efforts to ensure a smooth transition for newborns requiring specialized care.
- Utilize advanced assessment and diagnostic skills to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Collaborate effectively with a team of nurses, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver optimal patient outcomes.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in neonatal care and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Our NICU Environment:
- 15-bed Level III NICU with the capacity to expand to 22 beds as needed.
- Average daily census of 12 neonates.
- Utilizes Epic electronic medical record system.
- Provides comprehensive respiratory support, including invasive (INO) and oscillator ventilation.
- Offers access to a wide range of pediatric subspecialists through phone consultations with a university system.
- Dedicated pediatric cardiology and ophthalmology services are readily available.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Neonatal Nurse Practitioner program.
- Active Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) certification.
- NYS licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Minimum two years of experience in a Level III NICU setting.
- Strong clinical skills, a patient-centered approach, and excellent communication abilities.
