Client is one of the worlds preeminent specialty risk underwriting organizations and is seeking a US Tax Director(link removed)


(This position can be located in: Stamford, CT; New York City; Hartford, CT or Iselin, NJ and is fully remote).


RESPONSIBILITIES:


Participate in business and finance planning processes to ensure tax impacts are properly reflected.


Coordinate and implement the US tax planning strategies in coordination with the multinational group operations.


Assist the Group Tax Director and senior management in evaluating the tax effect and implications of business initiatives, contemplated transactions, and business proposals.


Prepare federal income tax provisions (current and deferred taxes, GAAP and SSAP101) including provision to return reconciliations and inter-company settlements.


Prepare quarterly and annual financial statement disclosures (GAAP and SSAP101).


Manage federal and state income tax compliance process including liaising with external tax preparers.


Prepare and/or review federal and state income tax estimates and extensions.


Assist Group Tax Director and finance team with tax process controls documentation for SOX compliance including process narratives and related test work.


Prepare and/or review miscellaneous tax returns and estimates including federal excise, franchise tax, capital stock, CAT, municipal, use and property taxes.


Work closing with finance and regulatory teams on vendor tax administration policies and procedures to ensure compliance with tax reporting requirements.


Work on ad hoc projects as needed (due diligence, merger and acquisition activity, tax research, tax examinations).


Manage the tax aspects of intercompany transactions including intercompany agreements, transfer pricing arrangements and withholding tax implications.


EXPERIENCE:


10+ years of Property & Casualty insurance tax accounting experience


Working knowledge of OneSource Provision use and implementation a plus


Excellent written and oral communication skills


Proficient in Microsoft office applications (e.g., Excel)


CPA certification


BA in Finance, Accounting or similar (advanced degree MST, MACC a plus)
