What You Will Do Provides Safe Patient CareUnder Physician Delegation: Administers IV fluid without additives, saline flush, IV antibiotics, all IV medications excluding controlled and RSI medications. ACLS drugs (including drips) using barcode medication verification (BMV) during medication administrations. All IM and oral medications excluding controlled drugs. Plans the care of the patient Completes accurate documentation in the electronic health record Provides consistent attention to airway, intake, elimination, sleep, rest, mobility and hygiene needs Applies antiembolic stockings and sequential compression devices Cervical collar management External defibrillation Nasal cannula or oxygen mask application Oral airway insertion and removal Ultrasound-guided peripheral IV Access Draw blood from ports Other duties as assigned by RN Additional perks of being a Texas Health employee Delivery of high quality of patient care through nursing education, nursing research and innovations in nursing practice.
