Position: Oracle DBA

Location: Pune

The Oracle Cerner Database Infrastructure team at Pune is currently seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to join our team in Pune, Maharashtra. This position will serve as a crucial member of our Database Infrastructure team, holding the role of Database Administrator III.

Responsibilities:

As an Oracle DBA, you will be responsible for managing Oracle databases for Cerners hosts, encompassing both production and non-production environments.

Your duties will include:

• Conducting comprehensive database security management to safeguard sensitive healthcare data.
• Utilising Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for efficient database monitoring and management.
• Leveraging AWR (Automatic Workload Repository) to analyse database performance and optimise resource utilisation.
• Troubleshooting database issues and implementing corrective actions to ensure uninterrupted system operation.
• Managing, maintaining, and supporting healthcare databases across non-production, standby, GoldenGate, and production environments.
• Establishing and maintaining database backups, as well as monitoring and managing database replication.
• Collaborating with third-party software or hardware manufacturers to ensure optimal configuration and support.
• Demonstrating expertise in Oracle Database architecture, backup and recovery, Data Guard, Real Application Clusters (RAC), Automatic Storage Management (ASM), Data Pump, patching, and SQL tuning.
• Developing standardised work plans, documentation, processes, and automation to streamline database operations.
• Willingness to work additional hours as required and permitted by local regulations, and providing mentorship to junior DBAs.
• Adhering to corporate and organisational security policies and procedures to safeguard corporate and client assets.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Information Technology, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Software, Electronics, Operational Research, or Computer System Engineering.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA.
• Work experience with operating systems (OS) and RDBMS technologies.
• Proficiency with Oracle Database versions 11g through 21c.
• Experience with database security management practices.
• Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for database monitoring and management.
• Knowledge of AWR (Automatic Workload Repository) for performance analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience managing both development and production databases (Oracle).
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience managing production databases on UNIX flavors (RHEL, OEL).
• Understanding of SQL performance tuning and database performance tuning concepts and methodologies.
