Job Duties, including but not limited to:
Thorough experience and knowledge of the principles, techniques and concepts of polysomnography scoring and report preparation for physician interpretation. The sleep record scoring shall be within the AASM guidelines, using the current AASM scoring manual, version 2.6. Minimum number of studies scored within the 8 hour shift shall be 6. Utilizing and scoring sleep records on digital sleep programs. Tasks completed during sleep record scoring: Identify normal wake and sleep Electroencephalography (EEG) patterns Identify and score sleep and wake stages Identify normal and abnormal sleep architecture Identify and score movement time, body movements and arousalsIdentify seizure activity, alpha-delta sleep and drug spindles Identify Rapid Eye Movement (REM) behavior disorder Identify normal and abnormal cardiac beats and rhythms Identify and score Periodic Limb Movement Disorder (PLMS) and event related arousals and awakenings Identify and score respiratory events and related phenomenon Tasks for preparing a report for physician interpretation: Perform a computerized data analysis containing the following data: Recording time, sleep time and sleep efficiencySleep and stage latencies, and latency to persistent sleep this includes all stages in Non- Rapid Eye Movement (NREM) and REM sleepMovement time, wake time, NREM and REM onsetCortical arousal number and indexRespiratory events and index respiratory events include obstructive, central, mixed apneas and obstructive hypopneasBody positionOxygen SaturationHeart RatePLMS number and index Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Completion of the following:
Diploma or Certificate from an accredited Polysomnography School. Experience: Candidates must have the following experience:
Minimum 3 years full time experience scoring adult sleep studies in accordance with the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) guidelines. Minimum 1 year experience working as a registered night sleep technologist with adult patients. Basic computer skills Security:
National Background Must be authorized to work in the United States Must have reliable transportation to and from work site License/Certification and Training:
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) with American Heart Association Current Registered Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT) through the Board of Polysomnography Technologists (BRPT) Schedule:
Day Shift: Monday to Friday 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM 11 Paid Federal Holidays Job Type: Full-time
