Practice Details:

• Mission-driven, modern health system in North Carolina
• 114-bed hospital delivering comprehensive patient care
• Support staff includes neonatal nurse practitioners, onsite radiologist, and 24-hour laboratory availability 
  
  
  
  • Efficient air and ground transport for NICU patient transfers when needed
  
  

Schedule:

• Patient rounding in the mornings followed by call coverage
  
  
  
  • Must be able to respond to deliveries within 30 minutes
  
  
• Inpatient census of 5/day on average
• 2 patients/day/provider
• 2 admits/day/provider

Qualifications:

• Board-certified Pediatric Hospitalist
• PALS, BLS, DEA, and NRP certifications required

Cases and Procedures:

• Pediatric Hospitalist responsibilities include:
  
  
  
  • Coverage of newborn nursery, scheduled c-sections and deliveries
  • Respond to codes
  • Manage routine cases in an inpatient setting
  • Prepare/stabilize patients for transfer to NICU
  
  
• No ICU/Critical Care duties
