Title: Project Manager - Data (1341914) Duration: 14-Aug-2024 to 15-Aug-2026 Location: Hybrid role in Paramus, NJ (Candidates must be local to NJ and able to commute to the Paramus office) Right to Hire: Yes Work Schedule: Full-time, Standard Work Week (Monday – Friday, 9-5). Background Check Required: Yes Drug Screening Required: Yes The Challenge: The Project Manager for the data transformation project at Veolia North America will serve as the key coordinator and driver for a major Business Intelligence (BI) transformation initiative. This role involves overseeing the delivery of high-quality BI solutions using technologies such as Looker, dbt, and BigQuery. The Project Manager will lead a cross-functional team, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet the expected quality standards. Roles & Responsibilities: Project Delivery: • Manage the end-to-end delivery of data models in the semantic layer to enable self-service BI for users. • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and adhere to quality standards. Stakeholder Communication: • Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, maintaining clear and regular communication regarding project progress, risks, and issues. • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, ensuring effective collaboration and appropriate task delegation. Risk Management: • Proactively identify and manage risks and issues that could impact project delivery. • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and maintain ongoing reviews of project risks, issues, and dependencies. Team Coordination: • Foster a collaborative environment within the Data Platform Team and other related departments. • Work within an Agile environment, emphasizing teamwork and collaboration. • Facilitate communication and cooperation to ensure all team members are engaged and contributing to project success. Quality Assurance: • Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards and fulfill organizational and client requirements. • Implement measures to monitor and improve the quality of the solutions delivered. Continuous Improvement: • Promote a continuous improvement mindset within the team. • Analyze project performance data to identify areas for improvement. Reporting: • Regularly report project progress, issues, and outcomes to senior management and stakeholders. • Ensure transparency and visibility of the program's status and performance. Essential Skills & Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. • A minimum of 3 years of experience in program, project, or delivery management roles, preferably in digital solutions deployment. • Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously. • Prior experience in the environmental services industry or a related field is an advantage. Knowledge/Skills: • Strong project management skills, including expertise in Agile methodologies (e.g., SCRUM) and project management tools (e.g., GitLab). • Deep understanding of Business Intelligence, semantic layer (Looker), Data Warehouse (BigQuery), and broader data management practices. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively. • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and adapt to changing project requirements. • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is strongly preferred. • Agile Scrum Master certification or similar is a plus. • Certifications related to data management, digital solutions, or environmental sustainability would be beneficial.
