Position: Agile Champion/ Sr Scrum Master Location: Onsite 2-3 days Phoenix, AZ-Need locals or nearby Visa: Any visa works Exp level: 12+ years Job Description: Need Agile Champion for American Express Network area. This person would be Senior Agile Champion/TPM for 2 scrum teams of very technical nature. Facilitates Agile events that help the Engineering team deliver value incrementally and iteratively; embeds Agile ways of working. Key Responsibilities Drives the Engineering team's contribution throughout the Program Increment (PI) through coaching and facilitating team level events Works within and across team(s) to anticipate, track, and resolve risks and impediments to delivery Supports the team in achieving the PI objectives and improves the team long-term performance via coaching and encouraging continuous improvement in ways of working Supports and coaches Product Owners through backlog refinement, backlog readiness, definition of ready/done, coaching on writing user stories, supports decision-making and fosters continuous delivery of business value to end users. Supports coordination across Team of Teams (Agile Release Train (ART)/Release Train Engineer (RTE Raises and provides visibility around gaps, impediments, risks, and dependencies. Ensures impediments are visible and tracked through to resolution, escalating when necessary Fosters practices for identifying, tracking, discussing and resolving crossteam dependencies within the team, taking ownership of a dependency on some occasions. Uses coaching and facilitation to enable team to use dependency management techniques to drive delivery Monitors progress and impact over time by tracking, identifying and improving delivery effectiveness metrics Ensures compliance with SDLC standards across the team Ensures data integrity for the teams within the Agile Management tools and compliance with SDLC audits Influences team without authority. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree required; computer science, computer engineering, Project Management or other technical discipline ; 3+ years of Agile Champion experience facilitating Agile, Scrum, or other rapid application development teams to deliver solutions. Current/active CSM or PMP-ACP certification or equivalent certification required; SAFe Agilist certification a plus. Ability to influence and gain alignment at all levels of the organization including senior leadership. Builds high trust and creditability across the organization through deep domain knowledge of the business and underlying technology. Supporting and improving the usage of DevOps, CI/CD (continuous Integration /Continuous Deployment) across the Agile train(s Strong facilitation and communication skills. Industry and Company Knowledge Shows skill in Agile/Lean/SAFe Principles and Frameworks quality and testing best practices. Agile Champion to lead 2-3 scrum teams of Global Network Services Area 5+ years of Agile experience leading more than one technical team. Rally Agility management tooling & experience in SAFe framework preferred. Amex or Financial Services experience is a must. Technical experience preferred as well, not seeking a coder, but someone who understands technology to allow impediment removal for engineers they will be leading. Person with experience working in Network business is preferred. He/she needs to work in our Phoenix on most of the days.
