Job description
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Afternoon Lead Baker for our client, a renowned bakery known for its high-quality baked goods. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of baking experience and a proven track record of managing or supervising staff. This position is responsible for leading the baking team to ensure the efficient and timely production of baked products while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the daily operations of the baking team, ensuring all products meet company standards.
Supervise and mentor team members, providing on-the-job training and coaching.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to GMP and HACCP requirements.
Complete daily production reports accurately, including quantities, lot codes, and related information.
Ensure all safety protocols are followed, and equipment is used correctly.
Address any production issues, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple demands effectively.
Communicate with team members and supervisors to coordinate production schedules and resolve any challenges.
Provide input on team member performance and participate in performance reviews as needed.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM - Some Saturdays as needed
Salary: $19.00 to $20.00 per hour

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of professional baking experience.
Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role in a bakery setting.
Strong understanding of baking processes, equipment, and recipes.
Fluent in English, with excellent communication skills both written and oral.
Intermediate computer skills and strong mathematical abilities.
Capable of lifting up to 19KG and standing for extended periods.
Knowledge of Health & Safety, GMPs, and HACCP is required.
Working Conditions:

Must be able to work in environments with varying temperatures, including hot ovens and cold freezers.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends as required.
