Marsh McLennan is seeking candidates for the following position based in the Urbandale office:


Staff Accountant II

We will count on you to:


Serve as a subject matter expert as it pertains to company revenue recognition policies.
Review contracts to ensure validity and accuracy.
Review accrual, deferral, and share journal entry support.
Assist with timely and accurate monthly and quarterly close and financial statement delivery.
Assist with the development, implementation and documentation of internal and external accounting and operating policies, procedures and process improvements for general accounting functions.
Ensure compliance with corporate policies, SOX procedures, US GAAP and local statutory regulations (as applicable) regarding financial matters.
Collaborate with groups outside of accounting.
Work with team members daily.


What you need to have:


Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
Intermediate proficiency with MS Excel
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Prior accounting experience (2+ years preferred)
Experience reviewing journal entries and month end close
Experience working with internal or external audit
Experience of implementing process improvements
Revenue recognition experience
Effective problem solving and analytical skills.
Excellent time management skills
