Sr. Cloud Platform Engineer (Hybrid)

We have an immediate need for a direct hire Sr. Cloud Platform Engineer to join a multinational hospitality organization. The Sr. Cloud Platform Engineer participates in the evaluation of new technologies, identification of areas for continuous improvement, and contributes to the development of standards and best practices.

Location: Phoenix, AZ. Hybrid working onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

This job expects to pay around $113,000 – 130,000 annually plus benefits.

What You Will Do:

• Leads the design, implementation, and administration of cloud-based infrastructure automation and continuous delivery capabilities including CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and Site Reliability.
• Supervising and performs the provisioning, configuration, and administration of highly scalable and secure cloud environments including networking, infrastructure, operating systems, middleware, messaging platforms, and cloud-based services.
• Designs the physical architectures for cloud-based applications that ensure scalability, availability, observability, security and compliance under the guidance of senior team members.
• Works collaboratively with software engineering to define infrastructure and deployment requirements and to ensure adherence to cloud security standards, reference architectures, patterns, and best practices.
• Optimizes cloud environments for both performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Assists in the design, implementation, and testing of disaster recovery strategies.

What Gets You The Job: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field from a four-year college or university or equivalent education and/or work experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure engineering, software development, information systems, or equivalent technical fields including previous experience in the development and support of highly transactional, mission critical applications.
• Associate level AWS certification preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of enterprise public cloud experience (AWS highly preferred) building and maintaining cloud infrastructure including compute, storage, database, networking, and security related services.
• Strong understanding of Linux administration and cloud networking.
• Experience with one or more scripting languages (Python, Bash, Ruby, Powershell, or Groovy)
• Experience with cloud automation templating (CloudFormation or Terraform)
• Experience with configuration management and deployment automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Experience with continuous Integration and DevOps toolchain technologies such as Jenkins, Git and Nexus
• Experience with log aggregation and monitoring tools such as ELK, CloudWatch, Prometheus and APM solutions.
