Lead and manage technology in projects and provide technical guidance to design and development of solutions for data management, cloud based scientific informatics workflows, cloud architecture, scientific tools, data warehouses, and analytics pipelines. Perform development of technical design, review and validation of detailed cloud architecture, analysis pipelines, and code for each cloud-based workflow need. Lead projects involving cloud, and High-Performance Computing based workflows, scientific applications and integrations with Lab Information Management Systems Applications and databases on multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud architectures. Responsible for architecture definition, design specification, functional specification, pipeline development, system testing and user acceptance testing. Implement Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment based workflows. Define coding standards and operating procedures for developing Infrastructure as Code scripts for cloud deployments. Define the scope, plan, and execution of projects. Manage team performance, and ensure stakeholder communication including status reporting, risk management and issue escalation. Coordinate with key stakeholders, external vendors, and service providers. Analyze business processes and requirements and understand problem and challenges. Analyze current state business processes and gaps. Document integration requirements, and capture traceability. Drive efficiency and operational improvement through business process definition, system alignment, and optimization of system usage and lead cross-functional efforts to address systems issues. Evaluate Industry trends to identify areas for optimization. Develop future state workflows and present recommendations. Evaluate vendor solutions and facilitate demos of prototypes as Proofs of Concept. Responsible for training and knowledge gathering sessions with Subject Matter Experts. Conduct status meeting with customers and other project stakeholders. This position requires 10% of international travel: including 5% to client sites, and 5% to other internal offices. In addition, this position will require travel within the U.S. Specifically, domestic travel will be required about 30% of time, including 15% travel to client sites and 15% travel to other internal offices. Telecommuting one day a week is allowed. Travel and work at client sites as assigned. Multiple Positions Available.

Job Requirements:

Requires a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Management Information Systems, or a related field plus two (2) years of experience in the relevant field.

Alternatively, the employer also accepts a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Management Information Systems, Biotechnology, or a related field plus five (5) years of experience in the relevant field in lieu of a Master’s degree plus two (2) years of described experience.

Requires two (2) years of experience in the following:

• Software development and testing.
• Advanced Cloud computing and high-performance computing.
• DevOps.

Requires one (1) year of experience in the following:

• Business requirement analysis and gathering.
• At least one of the following: Drug Discovery and Development Processes; Clinical Study Planning and Data Management; Lab Workflows; Chemical and Biologics Material Management; Sample Management; Robotic Systems Integration & Qualification; or Operations KPI and Metrics tracking.
• At least one of the following operating systems: Unix, Windows, or MVS.
• Software development processes: Waterfall and Agile.
• Software Methodology: Object Oriented Programming, and Structured Programming.
• At least one of the following: Visio, MS Project, or SharePoint.

This position requires 10% of international travel: including 5% to client sites, and 5% to other internal offices.
