Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Coding professional to join our team. As a Medical Coder, you will be responsible for assigning appropriate codes to medical procedures and diagnoses for accurate billing and reimbursement. This is a full-time position based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, and requires a Junior level candidate with 1 to 3 years of experience.

Qualifications and Skills

• CCS certification
• CPC certification
• Solid understanding of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
• Strong knowledge of Evaluation and Management (E&M) coding
• Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software
• Familiarity with AAPC coding guidelines
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Previous experience in medical coding is required

Roles and Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes to medical procedures and diagnoses
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with coding guidelines and regulatory requirements
• Review and analyze medical records, patient charts, and billing documentation
• Coordinate with healthcare providers to resolve coding-related issues
• Follow up on coding discrepancies and denials to ensure proper reimbursement
• Stay updated on changes in coding rules and regulations
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
• Collaborate with the billing department to ensure accurate claims submission
• Provide coding education and training to healthcare professionals as needed
