Job Description

We currently have an opportunity for a full-time CNC/CAD Programmer. Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for programming cut files for laser and water jet machines at our facility on Mitchell Island in Richmond, BC.

The shift will be from Monday to Friday from  8:00 AM to 4:30 PM / 08:00 to 16:30 with BC Statutory Holidays exempt.

The starting hourly rate is $25.00 per hour.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Adhering to all company standards of quality, safety, and conduct.
  • Ensuring that Shop Orders, known as “SO’s”, are programmed according to timelines & scheduling.
  • Reading the Contract Review and following any special instructions.
  • Confirming all provided CAD files for dimensions and material.
  • Confirming all drawn CAD files with the sales representative.
  • Confirming materials (thickness and grade) availability.
  • Ensuring that cut files and nests are programmed in an appropriate manner.
  • Cut files are to be reviewed and qualified for cutting.
  • Allocating material for the order when applicable.
  • Reference drawings must be provided for all cut files that are irregular in nature.
  • Troubleshooting CAD files and CNC programming.
  • Reading and understanding blueprints and mechanical drawings.
  • Knowledge and use of appropriate tools.
  • Assisting all Sales Representatives with any CAD work & quoting they require.

 

Qualifications

  • CNC/CAD programming (1 year experience minimum).
  • Familiar with Microsoft programs such as Outlook and Teams.
  • Great organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
