Valid Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Oregon (OR)

ANY of the following valid licenses/certifications:

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS)

American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA ACLS)

American Red Cross Basic Life Support (ARC BLS)

As a Post Surgical Unit Nurse, you will provide comprehensive care for post-operative patients, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to assess, plan, and implement individualized care.

You will document patient assessments and interventions while ensuring optimal patient care. Key Responsibilities

Provide holistic care for post-operative patients including orthopedic, bariatric, urologic, or general surgical procedures.

Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, and learning needs.

Establish nursing diagnoses and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.

Plan and update care based on identified diagnoses and needs.

Implement individualized care including medication administration, wound care, and pain management.

Assist with activities of daily living and patient handling.

Teach patients and families about healthcare, illness prevention, and wellness promotion.

Supervise unlicensed assistive personnel for optimum patient care.

Coordinate interdisciplinary care and document patient assessments and interventions. Schedule and Shift Details

12-hour nights from 1900-0730, must float to the MCU and IMCU as needed.

Registered Nurse Within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing, applies the nursing process to the care of patients. Teaches patients and significant others. Documents patient care in the medical record. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to effectively coordinate overall care of the patient.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES Able to read, write legibly, and converse effectively in the English language. Exhibits critical thinking and problem-solving skills Flexible, able to prioritize and adapt to rapidly-changing patient and unit needs. Demonstrates effective teaching skills. Responds effectively to patient crisis/emergency situations Proficient in use of computer, including accessing internet, word processing, and documenting in an electronic medical record system. Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location
