Cybersecurity Engineer Specialist, Red Team Penetration Tester (Remote)

We have an immediate need for a contract-to-hire Cybersecurity Engineer Specialist, Red Team Penetration Tester to join an industry-leading payments technology and solutions organization. The Cybersecurity Engineer Specialist will be responsible for enhancing the security posture of our payment software solutions through rigorous penetration testing and red teaming activities.

Location: Remote

This job expects to pay about $70 - 75 per hour plus benefits.

What You Will Do:


  • Work closely with development, security, and operations teams to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities, and to simulate real-world attack scenarios.
  • Conduct comprehensive penetration testing and vulnerability assessments on our payment software applications, infrastructure, and systems.
  • Develop and execute advanced red teaming exercises to identify and exploit potential attack vectors.
  • Analyze and report on identified vulnerabilities, providing actionable recommendations for remediation.
  • Stay abreast of the latest attack methodologies, tools, and trends in the cybersecurity landscape.
  • Collaborate with development teams to incorporate security best practices into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Develop and maintain penetration testing and red teaming methodologies and tools.
  • Mentor and develop junior cybersecurity engineers.

What Gets You The Job: 


  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in offensive security or a related field.
  • Proven experience in red teaming and adversarial emulation.
  • Deep understanding of network and application security principles.
  • Proficiency in various penetration testing tools and methodologies (e.g., Kali Linux, Burp Suite, Metasploit).
  • Strong scripting and programming skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
  • Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of payment card industry (PCI) DSS and other relevant compliance standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Certifications such as OSCP, GPEN, Offensive Security Certified Expert (OSCE), or similar.
  • Experience with secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC).
  • Knowledge of threat intelligence and threat modeling.
