Job Description:

Analyze research data and proposed product applications and specifications to determine feasibility of product and prepare for sales proposal. Finalize designs and specifications for final product and have worked checked by other engineers. Detail individual component drawings and specifications for final assemblies using Solidworks CAD software. Confer with customers, sales representatives, and factory design team to clarify or resolve problems and develop design and prepare design modifications as required. Prepare product or system layout and detailed 2D and 3D drawings and schematics using Solidworks CAD software. Direct and coordinate manufacturing or building of product or assembly. Analyze test data or FEA and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance customer specifications and evaluate engineering test results for possible application to development of systems or other uses. Use computer assisted engineering and design software, Solidworks, and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks. Train existing and future design staff on 3D CAD systems, company design standards, and solutions for workholding. Using Realtime ERP and Excel, track projects’ process with engineering, sales, and in-house and outsourced manufacturing; assist in project scheduling and prepare Gannt charts if required by customer; and help report to customers project progress and resolve issues.

Other Job Requirements:

Must have a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related field plus 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer or a substantially similar position.

Required experience must include three (3) years of experience with all of the following: Workholding, collet chucks, diaphragm chucks, hydraulic arbors and face drivers, and manufacturing principles; ERP system (Realtime), Database Software (Access), Internet Software, Spreadsheet Software (Excel), Design Software, Word Processing Software (Word), Electronic Mail Software (Outlook), Presentation Software (PowerPoint); Solidworks and FEA Analysis, and PLM Systems; applying advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations; reading, analyzing, and interpreting common technical drawings in both inch and metric units of measurement; responding to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community; assisting with technical articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format; and presenting information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Work Hours: 8 AM to 5 PM
