Responsible for research, planning, and implementing new programs and protocols into a company or organization, and overseeing development of new products, while maintaining intellectual property of Applied Plant Science; Manage costs associated with product development through implementation to ensure the likelihood of profitability upon product launch; Direct and support individual and multiple departmental teams; Provide focus to individual team members, report results and risks to management and respond to team needs; Support management of departmental policy according to the current Design Control process; Represent research and development interests in all internal and external communication; Facilitate to coordinate all inter- and intra-departmental inquiries on time; Design and implement research and development protocols or projects; Direct and support advanced analytical techniques to extend scientific theories in innovative research projects; Utilize diverse knowledge of scientific research principles, practices, and protocols in research projects; Recommend and summarize serving as basis for strategic decisions; Collaborate with Leadership Team to translate organization strategic vision to creation of new products; Provide feedback to R&D group about current and future path of R&D organization’s roadmap; Develop business plan and budget required to execute an annual and multi-year R&D plan; Develop and monitor metrics as required to manage R&D function; Convey metrics to ensure appropriate alignment and executive awareness; Train and implement new product and manufacturing processes at all manufacturing facilities; Add or update ERP management system with new or updated formulations and manufacturing instructions. Provide and update quality control and assurance processes for bulk batches of liquid and powder products; Create and provide CoA’s, manufacturing declarations and shipping declarations requested by clients for compliance and regulation purposes.

Requires: Bachelor of Science in Operations Management or closely related degree, or foreign degree equivalent, plus 5 years of related experience. In the alternative, 7 years of related experience. Frequent and extended travel in and outside the US to other plant locations is required. Experience must include WHMIS or equivalent training in safe handling of chemical substances; operations management in the fertilizer industry; related research and development experience. $144,144.
