PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Labels products under Pharmacist's supervision, counts medications, stocks medication on shelves, and assists customers and Veterinarian clinics on the phone.
2. Retrieves, counts and fills medications.
3. Assists with inventory control and restocking of drugs and supplies.
4. Accesses, inputs, and retrieves prescription information from computer.
5. Refers doctor and customer phone calls and medical inquiries to Pharmacist.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

May be nationally certified as a pharmacy technician. Must be unrestricted and licensed as a pharmacy technician in Minnesota. All Minnesota Board of Pharmacy training must be completed and approved prior to applying for this position.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

1. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
2. Ability to work quickly and accurately under time and volume constraints.
3. Strong interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to resolve customer issues quickly and creatively in order to improve customer satisfaction.
5. Familiarity with pharmaceutical products, services and drug interactions.
6. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
7. Good analytical skills.

8. Strong data entry skills and experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, and other proprietary pharmacy software systems.

9. Must be able to stand and/or walk for the majority of an 8 hour shift.

10. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
