What you will be doing

We are seeking an experienced and highly-motivated Pharmacy Manager to lead operations at our new pharmacy facility in Wyomissing, PA that is set to open in 2024. This new facility will specialize in prescription home delivery and central fill services utilizing advanced automation technology. It will serve as a key hub driving the growth of our pharmacy operations regionally.

Location: Onsite in Wyomissing, PA

Hours: Full-time; pharmacy hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 7:00am-5:00pm EST

Cencora (formerly AmerisourceBergen) has managed and staffed the Reading Hospital ambulatory pharmacy program since 2017. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee all daily operations of the pharmacy fulfillment center, ensuring efficient prescription processing, order assembly, packaging, and shipping.
  • Manage and optimize automated assembly lines, pick/pack processes, and mail order distribution workflows.
  • Lead a team of pharmacists, technicians, and support staff in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Manages full-performance cycle (hiring, evaluations, coaching/development, discipline, terminating, etc) of pharmacy team members.
  • Performs order entry and verification of prescriptions as needed, providing technical guidance to staff pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
  • Responds to customer and client inquiries, requests, and issues.
  • Provides consulting on pharmaceutical matters to various levels of personnel regarding pharmacy operations.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and quality standards governing pharmacy operations.
  • Implement best practices, standard operating procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with courier services and logistics partners to enable timely home delivery.
  • Analyze metrics and KPIs to identify areas for operational enhancement and cost optimization.
  • Contribute to strategic planning for scaling up capacity and expanding service offerings.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.

What your background should look like

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:


Normally requires three (3) to five (5) years of pharmacy management experience, preferably in mail order/central fill operations; expertise in managing high-volume automated pharmacy fulfillment processes; a Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy. Unrestricted, current license as a Registered Pharmacist in Pennsylvania is required.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE ,AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong leadership, decision-making, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal
  • Keen attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work efficiently under time constraints and high volume
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite of programs and electronic medical record software such as Epic.
  • Expertise in quality assurance, patient safety, and customer satisfaction
  • Comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceutical products, regulations, and interactions
  • Proficiency with pharmacy automation systems, robotics (experience with BD Parata is a plus)
  • Hands-on experience in assembly line operations, machinery, and quality control processes
  • Proven skills in pick, pack, and ship distribution workflows
  • Inventory management and supply chain optimization experience
  • Familiarity with logistics, lean practices, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Ability to coordinate with third-party logistic partners, couriers, and manage customer issues creatively
