Humphries and Company LLC seeks fulltime Sr. Construction Estimator (Smyrna, GA). Develop and prepare conceptual estimates using limited preliminary design documents/information. Prepare detailed construction cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications and perform quantity take-offs for select trades. Prepare schedules based on various phases associated with project. Collaborate with project team, engineers, architects, contractors and vendors on project cost estimates. Prepare and/or review processes and monitor bids solicitations. Responsible for evaluating, negotiating, and/or validating subcontractors' bids. Prepare timely reports bids results and bid recommendations to Project Management Team. Strike a balance between overestimating and underestimating and complete construction projects within the prosed budget/costs that are estimated. Responsible for analyzing and defining the correct approach or estimate techniques for a project based on the budget and resources available. Prepare Conceptual Estimates with limited or no set of drawings and project Narratives and analyze correct project approach to deliver competitive pricing budgets. Standardize the project schedule throughout the various phases of a project. Review Construction Drawings and provide accurate quantity take-offs to scope out and verify the Subcontractor/Vendor costs for various work trades. Track Subcontractors/ Vendors Material Log and ensure correct specified material/ item is being priced. Assess Value Engineering Options to provide clients with the best overall cost and better or similar products. Communicate with Architects, Construction Managers, or Clients for any additional required information, verifying on missing scopes in drawings and delivering the requested pricing and/or bids on set deadlines.

Must have Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Building Construction or a related field and 2 years of experience in construction estimating, including experience with interior, exterior, MEP, FP, LV plans and specifications to verify all scopes. Must have 2 years of experience with budgeting and bidding interior and exterior construction projects, as well as experience presenting and reviewing construction budgets, scope and VE logs. Must have ability to accurately provide preliminary ROM, schematic, GMPs, and hard bid budgets/estimates and Value Engineering. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Building Construction or a related field and 2 years of experience, the employer will accept a Master degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Building Construction or a related field. Must have legal authority to work in the U.S. EEOE.
