Applied Materials, Inc. has openings in Hillsboro, OR for Customer Engineer [Req #C4060], to: Perform startup activities through Tier II with limited support, and complete qualifications with minimal assistance, on proprietary EBI (e-beam inspection) tools. Install leading-edge customer equipment, perform scheduled preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance, and upgrade equipment. Complete quality repairs. Actively respond to fabrication (“fab”) issues by communicating with engineers in other locations and participating in escalation conference calls. May initiate or participate in projects to drive down costs or increase uptime. Verify operational quality of system equipment. Follow all checklists and procedures an densure correct Revs of procedures and schematics are available prior to performing work. Perform retrofits on equipment and assist in process issues. Develop and execute corrective action plans. Perform BKM’s and comply with all IP guidelines. Apply diagnostic techniques and utilize documentation and test equipment with assistance from senior engineers. Diagnose and resolve technical problems. Identify process, software or hardware related system problems. Assume responsibility for complete customer satisfaction within work area. Assist in planning, communicating, and coordinating support plans with customer management. Travel to various unanticipated domestic client locations. May require relocation throughout the U.S.
Requirements: Associate’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field, and two (2) years of experience in any occupation in which customer engineering, product support engineering experience was gained. Alternately, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Engineering Technology or a field, and one (1) year of experience in any occupation in which customer engineering, product support engineering experience was gained.
Salary: $80,642 - $104,835 / year
