Job Title: Staff Back-end Engineer
Location: Seattle, WA

Duties: Build high-quality software to establish and execute short- and long-term design and architectural roadmaps for the business. Design and implement sophisticated systems to meet the needs of the Rocket-on-Demand (ROD)business and exercise direct ownership of new features to improve ROD platform's scalability, reliability, availability, extensibility and performance. Automate and simplify team's development and operations processes. Participate in hiring, mentor junior engineers and provide technical direction to junior engineers to build, own and maintain large-scale distributed systems. Work on components, applications or services, including building new complex system or making major improvements to existing system that the team owns. Make technical trade-off decisions at system level. Facilitate communication with other teams on dependencies.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Technology (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus six (6) years of experience building complex software systems. Specific skills/other requirements - Experience must include: Designing software product features, technical designs and product strategy, applying knowledge of fundamental algorithms, system design and large distributed systems (6 years); performing coding using Java Scala, Kotlin, C++ or C# (6 years); communicating with users, technical teams and senior management to collect requirements (6 years); mentoring junior software engineers (6 years); and Interfacing front-end user through to back-end systems (6 years). Rate of Pay: $238,566.00 to $297,000.00/year.
