Our Client is seeking a professional, positive, dependable and customer focused Shift Leader to join the friendly team at their Convenience Store located in Breezewood. The qualified candidate will be motivated to grow into an assistant store manager role.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum requirement of a high school education or equivalent with at least one year of experience in the convenience store, retail, or restaurant industry
Food Manager Certification a plus
Experience working in a leadership role in a convenience store and / or food service environment is desired
Positive and professional customer services attitude and actions
Must be effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
Knowledge and experience using computers is required
General Responsibilities:
Specifically, delegates work assignments of the evening crew, effectively utilizing them in a productive, cost effective and safe manner. Resolves conflicts and problems.
Sets positive examples and provides leadership by effectively training and supervising all associates.
Assures prompt, efficient, and cheerful customer service by all evening store staff.
Greets customers, answers customer questions, addresses customers concerns and resolves complaints.
Directs and manages associates and work processes at night in the absence of the store and assistant store manager to maintain a clean, organized and well stocked store.
Responsible for maintaining the security of the store and all associates working the evening shift. Also enforces store sanitary and safety standards. Checks refrigeration alarms, follows store security guidelines, and helps minimize loss by controlling shrink and being alert for theft.
Monitors the register area to ensure a consistent and effective operation which includes prompt, friendly, courteous, and efficient customer service.
Complete daily paperwork accurately and timely. Keeps store management informed of any concerns.
Assumes the role of safety director for the store. Responsible for doing hazardous communication training, assists the Store Manager in investigating accidents and in completing accident reports and in communicating other important safety and health information to associates.
Overview of Schedule and Compensation:
Hourly position based on experience/ knowledge level
Typically, 36-40 hours a week 5:00 am start and 2:00 pm end, with 2 evening shifts required (12:15 pm 9:15 pm) each week
