Data Scientist (Whatnot Inc.; Culver City, CA): Responsible for using data science methodologies and tools to drive business improvements. Build actionable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and create production-quality dashboards and notebooks to convey insights. Inform the product engineering roadmap through analysis of marketplace, user behavior, and product trends. Utilize Structured Query Language (SQL) to provide reports, dashboards, and analytics to leaders across organizations to influence data driven decisions. Lead key business initiatives across multiple product areas and communicate findings with the leadership and product teams. Perform ad hoc analyses to identify and diagnose opportunities and issues in the business. Telecommuting permitted from anywhere in the U.S.

Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Data Science, Statistics, or related field, plus five (5) years of post-baccalaureate, progressively responsible experience as a Data Scientist, Product Analyst, Operation Manager, or related occupation.

Must have experience with the following: Python and R scripting languages; PostgreSQL and DynamoDB operational databases; Redshift, Snowflake, Big Query, Presto, Athena, Spark, DBT data warehouses, and big data technologies; applied statistics and machine learning techniques; and interactive visualization tools (Hex).

Salary: $180,000-220,000 per year
