Navan, Inc. seeks Staff Software Engineer in Palo Alto, CA:

Job Duties: Responsible for taking architecture level decisions and creating a unified platform which can host multiple admin applications including travel admin and liquid admin app. Make decisions and attend meetings regarding updates to technology and framework stacks for the system. Lay the base foundation for new technologies and help developers implement into the current system. Lead a team of engineers as well as personally implementing complex technical initiatives and projects from design to delivery. Plan, break down, estimate and review the tasks of each developer and ensuring deliverables. Work with new and legacy systems to directly implement newer features. Review the development processes, creating and implementing best practices to improve productivity. Allot time to test new features and changes to existing features. Interview and train new engineers, perform design and code reviews regularly of all other engineers on the Travel Admin team. Communicate with the stakeholders, contributors and business partners. Telecommuting is an option. Some travel to Navan’s office is required.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering (any field) or closely related quantitative discipline and three (3) years of experience in job offered or in any occupation in a related field.

Special Skill Requirements: (1) Users and Permissions architecture; (2) Policy Control and Policy Engine; (3) Git/Github Actions and Jenkins; (4) full stack development tools including Docker, Netlify, Splits, Storybook; (5) Data Tracking and monitoring tools including New Relic, Sentry, and Amplitude; (7) JavaScript; (8) AngularJS; and (9) Testing framework with Jest and Cypress. Any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience is acceptable. Telecommuting is an option. Some travel to Navan’s office is required.

Salary: $205,000.00 - $235,750.00 per annum
