Provide technical leadership to guide strategic customers to successful implementations on big data products, ranging from architectural design to data engineering to model deployment and Lead the adoption of Apache Spark and Databricks for the customers. Detailed job duties include: Discussions of complex software engineering problems, recommendations for how Databricks' newest and most difficult-to-understand Big Data and artificial intelligence software can provide solutions to these problems, and hands-on software engineering tasks to assist the customer in building these solutions. Responsible for working with new software engineers to show them how they can write their own software with Apache Spark and Databricks, typically through delivering the first software engineering tasks of these new customers and subsequently training them along the way. Provide deep dive demonstration on advanced topics such as data management, machine learning operations etc. Understanding customer requirements and evaluate various Databricks runtime Spark technologies to fulfill them. Design architectures that are robust and production ready. Performance tuning and conduct end-to-end load testing on pipelines. Provide guidance and best practices on data management, cloud platforms, data science and deliver example notebook coding examples to be used by customers. Consult on architecture and design, bootstrap, and/or implementation of strategic customer projects in order to provide solutions that utilize Databricks technology. Analyze strategic customers' existing system's pain points and provide code in Databricks notebooks to solve scalability, performance and stability requirements using Databricks technologies. Review customers' implementation code notebooks and provide feedback on effective use of Databricks technologies. Build reference architectures, how-tos, and demo applications for Databricks' current and potential customers. $170,995 - $205,000 per year. Minimum job requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering or related field and at least five years of experience. Will accept Master’s degree plus three years of experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree plus five years of experience. Must have experience in the following areas: Experience with Apache Spark; Design and implementation experience in big data technologies including at least one of the following: Hadoop, NoSQL, MPP, OLTP or OLAP; Programming experience with at least one of the following languages: Python, R, Scala or Java; Experience designing solutions on at least one of the following cloud infrastructure and services: AWS, Azure, or GCP; May telecommute from any US location.
