Paralegal Manager at Cohen & Gresser LLP (NY, NY).

Duties: Assess paralegal performance levels and create training programs to help underperformers meet the firm’s standard. Evaluate training materials and identify new training areas and assist in creating new training materials and agendas. Design, plan, and organize a formal Paralegal Training Program designed to foster Paralegal development and provide consistent opportunities for growth. Formalize a firm standard of Paralegal Core Competencies. Refer paralegals to teams in response to staffing requests and assist with conducting outreach to associates regarding capacity, interest, and overall workflow within case teams. Coordinate practice group trainings, including scheduling, editing, and circulating materials. Draft job descriptions for paralegal positions firm-wide to meet changing job requirements and hold technical-round interviews and screenings. Perform senior paralegal tasks, including factual research, discovery analysis and processing, assisting with filings, case management, and preparing timelines, charts, and other materials to assist with fact development and strategy. Assist with the delivery of legal project management concepts and methodology trainings to lawyers and legal teams. Review key department resources and templates. Assist legal department managers and directors with day-to-day and long-term staffing requests. Perform administrative tasks, including processing paralegal timesheets and overtime and time off requests, maintaining the weekend on-call paralegal program across departments, and scheduling training sessions. Ensure compliance with all Firm policies and ensure Professional Responsibility training meets state licensing requirements. Prepare monthly reports on Paralegal hours and earnings to be shared with department heads and management

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field plus three (3) years of progressive experience in the paralegal field with management experience. Experience must include NY and NJ state and federal court litigation (discovery, pre-trial, and trial experience). Experience must also include: supporting litigation data collection, research, and document management; conducting various document searches and factual research; editing and drafting cover letters, notices, affidavits/affirmations, declarations, stipulations, and discovery responses; maintaining internal databases, running case, people, document, news, and evidence searches on internal and external document databases and systems, and culling relevant information from a variety of resources such as Westlaw, libraries, case documents, Pacer, Eclipse, Relativity, and iManage for attorney review and case development. Telecommuting is permitted from any U.S. location 2 to 3 days per week. $100,000 - $126,000 / year.
