Sr Accountant - Life & Annuity Insurance
No opportunity to work remote - locals are preferred, but if someone would need to relocate a small stipend might be negotiated to help defray relo expenses

REQUIRES CURRENT/RECENT INSURANCE CARRIER ACCOUNTING EXPERIENCE

We're assisting this relatively new Life & Annuity insurance group in their search for an insurance accountant. Were targeting a minimum of 2 years of experience in GL and yellow or blue book filing within a Life/Annuity/Health or P&C carrier. 3 to 5 years would be a plus. This is a growth opportunity for someone who is looking forward to building and defining their career in insurance accounting. Will report to wonderful hiring manager/Director of Finance who is known for his mentorship and building relationships.

Controller is specifically looking for an individual that is going to help build the team from the ground up - set up all of policies, procedures, new accounting system, new statutory reporting system and anything and everything included in setting up a professional Finance and Accounting Team. We're looking for a self-directed individual who can and will work collaboratively with this Controller to assist in the goal to get this area up and running as smoothly and quickly as possible.

Responsibilities include, but aren't limited to...........
Assist in audits
Reconcile bank accounts/deposits and respond to bank inquiries
Code invoices/set up new accounts/make reconciliations/perform closings
Maintain the GL - balance sheets/income statements/cash flow
Assist in GAAP reporting
Coordinate maintenance/upgrades/enhancements of accounting software system
File required tax forms

Looking for someone who works well with others in a team setting, has a collaborative spirit and foremost - brings a customer centered focus.
Should be very experienced with Microsoft Office Suite and have a 4-year degree.

Additional information:

Casual Dress Days are on Fridays with an early closing at 3:00 PM

8 - 5:00 normal work hours Monday - Thursday.

Free covered parking.

Monday - Thursday dress is business casual - no jeans or athletic tennis shoes.

This position is eligible for a discretionary bonus of up to 20%.
